Active Birth Pools Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Active Birth Pools has been instrumental in pioneering the use of water for labour and birth in mainstream medical institutions in the United Kingdom and worldwide. Today, we offer the most advanced and comprehensive range of water birth pools in the world.

Since we introduced water birth pools to hospitals in 1987 we have established a reputation for the highest quality products and principles of design to a point where they can truly be regarded as the benchmark standard.

To mark our 25th year we are planning upgrades to some of our most popular pools and developing a brand new birth pool that will set new standards for ergonomic design, beauty and function.

New Developments

We are pleased to announce these technical developments now supplied as standard equipment with all Active Birth Pools:

1. New digital thermostatic monitor system integral to birth pool constantly monitors the temperature of the water and displays it on a rim mounted LED display.
2. Drainage system significantly improved . We have developed a bespoke electrically actuated motorised ball valve to automate and simplify drainage of the water.
3. Sturdy light weight single step units and active birth kneeling pads are now supplied with every birth pool.
