The Corner Birth Pool This pool was originally designed for Caroline Flint’s Birth Centre in South London. She needed a three pools that would fit into the delivery rooms and not to take up too much space. After meeting with the architects we decided that a corner model would be the best solution. The Corner Pool neatly fits into the corner of the room, provides the necessary space, depth and support within a minimum of floor space. The pool is mounted on a three inch frame with adjustable feet to provide for the connection of plumbing services. The base of the pool is three inch above ground level. The depth of the pool allows the mother to be deeply immersed and yet accessible to the midwife. The floor surface is lightly textured and non slip to ensure safety. The pool is fabricated from the highest quality sanitary acrylic. The pool is supplied mounted on a frame with three inch legs and adjustable feet. A surround will need to be constructed to enclose the front of the pool. The radius of the front curve can be easily followed with a flexible panel. This can then be painted to match the colour of the pool. An access panel should be incorporated into the surround to provide access to the plumbing and electrical components for future service.
