The Elliptical Birth Pool
The Elliptical Pool has been designed to be installed in a birthing room where space is at a premium. The pool can be installed in a variety of ways. With the head of the pool against the wall, there is excellent access for the midwife all around the pool. If space does not permit this arrangement, the pool can be installed with the flat side against the wall still providing access on three sides of the pool. The ends of the pool are shaped slightly differently. This offers the mother a choice of more upright or relaxed support. Although it is the smallest of our installed pools - it offers the women in labour enough space and depth to move comfortably while being immersed in the water or to relax along the length. The Elliptical Pool is fabricated from the highest quality sanitary acrylic which is then reinforced with fibreglass for strength and foamed for insulation. The pool is supplied mounted on a frame with three inch legs and adjustable feet. Once the plumbing and electrical services are brought to the area where the pool will be installed the pool is set into position and the final connections are made. A surround will need to be constructed to enclose the pool. A frame can be built to suit the shape of the pool. This can then be painted or tiled to match the colour of the pool. An access panel should be incorporated into the surround to provide access to the plumbing and electrical components for servicing. The Elliptical Pool Standard Features:
